News: Alexia Designs are helping to stop fake prom dresses and bridal gowns being sold online. (Apr/27)
This week we have teamed up with the company “Counterfeit Technology” to help us to stop sites from selling counterfeit dresses using stolen images from the Blush and Alexia website.
It is no secret that knock-off sites have been unlawfully using our trademarked work without permission. We are pleased to announce that we have finally found an effective way to stop this from happening.
The counterfeit technology is used to scan the web to see who is using our images to sell counterfeit dresses. They then make a list of all the URLS counterfeiting our dresses. The system will then send complaints to all the traffic sources, such as Google. Within less than a week our images will then be removed from the search engines. This will reduce traffic to the knock-off websites and ensure copies of our prom dresses and bridal gowns are not being sold online.
The search is repeated every 30 minutes and every time a new counterfeit site appears in the search results it is automatically entered into the system. The site recognizes stolen images then reports the URLS to all the different search engines including, Google, Bing, Yahoo, Facebook and many others. The reports will be sent to all major traffic sources. Not only will the system stop the sites using our images but it will also reduce traffic hitting the counterfeit websites
The system will cleverly recognize if the websites using our images are stockist or bloggers or just a member of the general public, announcing they have just bought a dress. These sites will not be reported, as they are not trying to sell knock offs.
Complaints are sent immediately - as soon as the system meets the minimum threshold that demonstrates a site is selling a knockoff, then automated complaints are sent. The search engines will actually remove the URLs from their search feature.
Not only will the technology report website URLS but also social media sites selling counterfeit dresses, or social media sites directing users to knock off sites.
